Skaven fishing hamlet
is a pleasant small fishing community with a small marina close to Skjern river mouth. |

Lønborg Heath
is a protected area of about 350 hectares. The heath has large, characteristic areas of wetlands of particular botanic interest with among other things
a lot of bell heather. There are many, static inland sand dunes. |

Lønborg Church and hill fort
The Romanesque Church is from the 12th Century standing high up overlooking Skjern River valley and Ringkøbing Fjord and close to the original path of
Skjern River. Rare frescoes on the walls of the nave and choir as well as a memorial tablet for the family of the nearby Lønborg Estate. This is one of
the few, well preserved west coast estates with roots in the Middle Ages. Archaeological finds from the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Viking Age and Middle Ages
west and north of the church. There is information about the changing route taken by Skjern River through time. |

The Hatter’s House
Tarm’s oldest house, is about 200 years old. Enjoy the garden with its herbaceous borders and herbs. Food made on an open fire, stone oven bakery,
butter churning, whittling and wood-cleaving to name but some. |

Skjern River Valley
with the 2200 hectare Skjern River Nature Project is one of Denmark’s best ornithological areas. Hestholm parking-place between Skjern and Lønborg is
perfect for bird-watching in Skjern River Valley. Information about guided arrangements to be got from The National Forestry and Nature Agency, Oxbøl
National Forestry District on either 76 54 10 20 or 21 41 86 29 and from Skjern-Egvad Museum on 97 36 23 43. |

Pump Station North and the mouth of Skjern River
There is a fantastic overview of the Skjern River Valley from the roof of the pump station along with poster boards explaining the Skjern River
Nature Project. The National Forestry and Nature Agency has established rope ferries so that walkers, cyclists and horsemen can cross the river
here for part of the year. There is a 2.5 kilometre long footpath from the pump station to the mouth of Skjern River. |

The town museum in Skjern
The water tower stands as a monument to Skjern’s foundation and development as a railway junction. The water supply plant for locomotives was one
of the first things built here. The railway was the origin of Skjern’s development and played a decisive part in the way the town came to look. |

King Hans Bridge
Close to the camping-place in Skjern walkers, cyclists and horsemen can cross Skjern River on the suspension bridge, King Hans Bridge, which is a part
of the region’s footpath system. The new bridge is built where recently archaeologists excavated a bridge from the Middle Ages (1105 A.D.). The bridge
was the West Jutland military road’s crossing on the River Skjern. |

Lundenæs Bridge
East of Skjern, walkers, cyclists and horsemen can cross the river on Lundenæs Bridge by Lundenæs castle mounds. There was a castle there from the 14th
Century until it burned down in 1621. Close by in a remnant of the original route of the River Skjern the wooden structures of the famous Lundenæs Salmon
farm can be seen. |

Skjern Windmill
was moved into the fast-growing station town in 1882 and in 1917 it was moved to its present location. It is one of the few functioning windmills
in the Country where it is possible to see millers grinding corn. Changing exhibitions. |

Stauning Harbour
A fishing harbour built in connection with the creation of a channel. A well-preserved cultural environment with recreational and equipment huts standing
round the quay. |

Danish Veteran Aircraft Collection
in Stauning is a fantastic collection of old aircraft, many ready for take-off. In the exhibition there are, among other things, jet aircraft, many historical
aircraft effects, over 50 models as well as one example of each of the KZ-aircraft types built in Denmark by the Scandinavian Aero Industry in the years
from 1937 to 1958. |

Dejbjerg Plantation
The Danish Land Development Service bought about 400 hectares of heath around 1900. These were then planted by prisoners from Gedhus Camp in years, 1903-1915.
Further areas were bought at the time of the Second World War. The memorial stone to Dalgas was raised on a vantage point by Ringkøbing Road in 1897.

Dejbjerg Iron Age
A reconstructed Iron Age environment with 2 farms, fields, meadows, common, wood and sacrificial bog. The main attraction in the exhibition is the
reconstructed Dejbjerg Wagon, one of Denmark’s famous prehistoric finds. |
