Bygholm Lake and Jættestue (gallery grave)
Bygholm Lake was created by the damming up of Bygholm River in 1920 in order to produce electricity. At the south end of Bygholm Lake is a gallery
grave. |

Bygholm Park
Bygholm River runs through the Park which today is a town park with artificial lakes, lawns and old trees. During the Middle Ages, Bygholm, built in
the 14th Century, was an important influence in the town. On the castle rampart several large brick buildings have stood. |

Nørrestrand
is a freshwater lake, 3 kilometres long and 400-500 metres wide. There footpaths and information boards in the area of conservation by the lake.
Nørrestrand is part of Horsens Fjord and is connected to the fjord by the narrow Stensballe Sound. Nørrestrand was salt-water until in 1915 when
sluices were built into the Sound Bridge. |

in Horsens is a specialist, cultural history museum. The museum’s area of interest is working-class, craftsmen and industrial culture after 1850.

is a cultural history museum with exhibitions of objects from among other things the rich bourgeois culture 1600-1800. There is also a collection of
Horsens silver, a fine pottery collection and an exhibition about Vitus Bering who in 1728 discovered that Asia and America were two separate

was earlier a manor house known from the middle of the 14th Century. The Estate was dissolved in 1920 and the land was eventually parcelled out to
become a colony of smallholders. There is an old people’s home in the castle, but there is public access to the park with a botanical garden

Ejer Baunehøj
at 171 metres above sea level, is one of Denmark’s highest natural points. On the top is a 13 metre tall tower from 1924 built in memory of the reunion with
South Jutland (Sønderjylland) after the First World War. The view from the top of the tower is fantastic and on a clear day the island of Samsø and
the Little Belt Bridge can be seen. |

Yding Forte
was a cattle track from the village of Yding over the common field to Yding Wood to the east of the village. The County of Vejle and the people of
Yding have reopened the track which now can be used as a path into the wood. |

Fårbjerg
The 79 metre high Fårbjerg (Sheep Mountain) offers a fantastic view over Skanderborg Lake and of, among other places, Skanderborg Castle Church. On
the horizon to the west it is possible to see the highest points in Denmark, Ejer Baunehøj and Yding Skovhøj. |
